Gajan is a French commune with 668 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Gard department in the Occitanie region . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Nîmes and the canton of Calvisson (until 2015: canton of Saint-Mamert-du-Gard ). The inhabitants are called Gajanais .
geography
Gajan is located 13 kilometers northwest of the city center of Nîmes . Gajan is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Rouvière in the north and east, Nîmes in the south-east, Parignargues in the south, Saint-Mamert-du-Gard in the south-west, Fons in the west and Saint-Bauzély in the north-west.
