List of waltzes by Johann Strauss (son)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The list of waltzes by Johann Strauss (son) is a directory of the waltz pieces by the composer Johann Strauss (son) that have appeared in print and given a work number.

Preliminary remark: The spelling of the waltz titles follows the spelling on the title pages of the respective first editions and therefore may differ. U. deviates from other or more well-known spellings, although a revision may be possible in individual cases despite the most careful research. The op. Counting uses the more commonly known "Viennese counting".

From the beginning of Johann Strauss (son )’s first stay in Russia in 1856, his Russian publishers (especially A. Büttner in St. Petersburg) have a. T. different counting used. The waltzes also appeared in Russia a. U. with changed titles.
