Uherčice (German Ungarschitz ) is a municipality in the Okres Znojmo in the Czech Republic .
location
The place is located west of Znojmo in South Moravia , about five kilometers north of Drosendorf on the Czech-Austrian border, 13 kilometers southeast of Jemnice and 14 kilometers west of Vranov nad Dyjí .
history
The first written mention of the village Ungerschicz comes from the year 1312. Until 1493 the village belonged to the Oslawan monastery . Then it came to the Lords Kraiger von Kraig , who expanded the place into their manorial seat in the 16th century and built a castle. In 1593, Ungarschitz went to the Strein von Schwarzenau family . In 1628 Jakob von Berchtold acquired the property and then accepted the title "von Ungarschitz and Fratting". 1768 came the rule to the noble family Collalto when it was acquired by Thomas Vinciguerra Count Collalto.
