history
The first written mention of Újezd came in 1320 as a fief of the Olomouc bishopric . In the beginning the Augezd estate was always connected to the Chirlitz ( Chrlice ) estate . In 1507 Heinrich Jankovsky was enfeoffed by Wlaschim with the Augezd estate. He was followed by Hynek Jankovsky in 1536 and Friedrich Jankovsky in 1555. The latter also acquired the neighboring feudal estate Biskupice. In 1610 Friedrich d. J. Jankovsky von Wlaschim bought the estate for 5000 Moravian guilders to Georg Zahradecky von Zahradek, who a little later sold it to Valentin Pawlowský von Pawlowic. Pavlovský took part in the class uprising in 1618, but the Catholic was pardoned after the Battle of White Mountain . Shortly afterwards he sold the goods Augezd and Biskupitz to Johann von Wertemate ( Wertemann von Wertema ). After his death, both goods fell home. In 1658 the diocese enfeoffed the imperial chief kitchen master Mathias von Wertemate with Augezd and Biskupitz. When he died in 1667, there was another reversion . The new owner was Karl Steinel von Plessenet, who separated the Augezd estate from Biskupitz and sold it to Johann Anton von Terz. From his heiress Barbara von Schröfel, the owner of the Biskupitz estate, Zdenek Bohuslav Dubský von Třebomyslice, bought Augezd for 8,200 guilders in 1680. Later the Dubský von Třebomyslice sold the Augezd estate to Franz Anton Salawa von Lípa, who sold it in 1713 for 10,500 guilders to Johann Joseph Bartonides von Tyran ( Berthonides von Tyrau ). This was followed by his son Franz Joseph and then his son of the same name. The knights Bartonides had a baroque castle built in Augezd. Around 1780 they founded west of Augezd during the Raabisation the street village Franzdorf ( Františkov ) as a settlement for miners of iron ore mine "Alfons coal mine". That with the death of Franz Joseph d. J. Bartonides von Tyran's feud, which fell into disrepair in 1807 , was sold in 1808 for 30,000 guilders to the Gubernialrat and Moravian Chamber Procurator Jakob Freiherr von Sternek. In 1810 he gave the estate to his son Karl Daublebský von Sternek.
In 1834 the Olomouc archbishopric fiefdom Augezd comprised a usable area of 955 yoke 423 square fathoms. 436 people lived on its territory; With the exception of three Jews who lived in the Augezder existing building, they were all Catholic and Moravian-speaking. Agriculture was the only source of income. The authorities managed two farms, one of which was in Augezd next to the castle, the other ( Na Dvorku ) in an open field on the Biskupitz border. On the Jaroměřica there was a three-speed mill ( Újezdský mlýn ) with an oil press and a board saw. The two villages Augezd and Franzdorf belonged to the estate. The village of Augezd consisted of 54 houses with 305 inhabitants. In the place there was an official castle, a yard and a distillery. The parish and school location was Bihařowitz . Until the middle of the 19th century, Augezd formed the official village of the fief of the same name.
After the abolition of patrimonial formed Újezd / Augezd 1849 with the hamlet Františkov a municipality in the judicial district Kromau. In 1868 the community became part of the Kromau district. In the course of the abolition of the Moravský Krumlov Okres, Újezd was assigned to the Moravské Budějovice Okres in 1949. After its dissolution, Újezd came to Okres Znojmo in 1960 .
