Vauvillers (Picard: Veuvilé) is a northern French municipality with 246 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality belongs to the canton of Ham and is part of the Communauté de communes Terre de Picardie .

geography

The municipality is located around four kilometers north of Rosières-en-Santerre in the Santerre . The municipal area extends in the north to the A29 autoroute and in the south over the D337 département road from Harbonnières to Chaulnes, where the group of houses La Maison Rouge is located.

history

Traces of Gallo-Roman settlement have been found in the area of ​​Vauvillers .

The community, which was partially destroyed in World War I , received the Croix de guerre 1914–1918 as an award .
