Moimay is a commune in the Haute-Saône department in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté and is part of the Canton Villersexel . Roland Grasperger has been mayor of the community since March 2002.
geography
The place is in a slightly hilly landscape above the river Ognon , a little more than a kilometer west of Villersexel . Here the Lauzin flows into a branch of the Ognon.
history
The battle at Villersexel on January 9, 1871 was an episode of the Franco-Prussian War of 1870/1871. Parts of the battle took place in the Moimay area.

With 236 inhabitants (January 1, 2017) Moimay is one of the smaller municipalities in the Haute-Saône department. In 1968 a temporary high was recorded with 209 residents. Since the beginning of the 1980s, the population has decreased slightly.
Buildings
The 19th century Saint-Barthélemy church has been restored. It contains a confessional and two statues from the 18th century.
