Municipal administration (mairie) |
La Proiselière-et-Langle is a municipality in the French department of Haute-Saône in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté .
geography
La Proiselière-et-Langle is located at an altitude of 354 m above sea level, ten kilometers east of Luxeuil-les-Bains and about 35 kilometers northeast of the city of Vesoul (as the crow flies). The village extends in the north-eastern part of the department, in the western foothills of the Vosges , on the southern edge of the Breuchin valley .
The area of the 7.06 km² large municipal area comprises a section of the valley landscape on the western edge of the Vosges. The northern border runs in the middle of the valley of the Breuchin, which flows here with several turns through an alluvial lowland to the west. The flood plain lies at an average of 345 m and has a width of about two kilometers.
From the course of the river, the community area extends southward over the valley and over a steep slope to the adjacent plateau of the Mille Étangs plateau . The slope is divided by two valleys, including that of the Ruisseau de la Goutte . On the plateau, which shows a loose structure of pastureland and forest, there are numerous small lakes, some of which are of natural origin, some of which were created by the monks for fish farming since the 11th century. At 442 m, the highest elevation of La Proiselière-et-Langle is reached on this plateau. In geological and tectonic terms, the plateau is made up of crystalline bedrock. On the plateaus there are glacial deposits from the Pleistocene . In some places, red sandstone from the Lower Triassic comes to light. The plateau gradually descends towards the southwest. Here is the forest of the Bois de la Grange .
The double community consists of the localities La Proiselière (354 m) and Langle (358 m), both located on the southern edge of the Breuchin valley, as well as numerous farms on the plateau des Mille Étangs . Neighboring municipalities of La Proiselière-et-Langle are Amage and Sainte-Marie-en-Chanois in the north, Les Fessey in the east, La Corbière in the south and La Bruyère in the west.
history
Remains of a Gallo-Roman camp on the hill south of the village indicate an early human presence. In the Middle Ages, La Proiselière and Langle belonged to the Free County of Burgundy and in it to the area of the Bailliage d'Amont . Local rule was held by the Lords of Faucogney. Together with Franche-Comté , both villages came to France with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678. La Proiselière and Langle have been a double municipality since the time of the French Revolution. Today, La Proiselière-et-Langle is a member of the community association Communauté de communes des Mille Étangs, which comprises 16 villages . It belongs to the parish of Sainte-Marie-en-Chanois and does not have its own church.
Attractions
The villages are characterized by various farmhouses from the 18th century, which show the traditional style of the region in the western Vosges. The mairie (parish hall) has a small bell tower. A stone bridge leads over the Breuchin.

Economy and Infrastructure
