Crevans

In the Middle Ages Crevans belonged to the Granges rule, which was under the sovereignty of the Counts of Montbéliard. Together with Franche-Comté , the village finally came to France with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678.

In 1807, Crevans and La Chapelle-lès-Granges merged together with various other localities to form the larger municipality of Granges-le-Bourg. La Chapelle-lès-Granges was separated from Granges-le-Bourg in 1853 and merged with Crevans to form Crevans-et-la-Chapelle-lès-Granges. Since 2000, Crevans-et-la-Chapelle-lès-Granges has been a member of the Pays de Villersexel community association, which comprises 33 localities .

The water power of the streams was previously used to operate several mills and a tannery. Today there are various local small businesses. In the meantime, the village has also turned into a residential community. Many employed people are therefore commuters who go to work in the larger towns in the vicinity and in the Belfort-Montbéliard agglomeration.

The village is well developed in terms of traffic. It is located on the main road D9, which leads from Héricourt to Villersexel. Other road connections exist with Gémonval and Gonvillars.
