This list shows the holders of the Order of Merit of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate .

The Order of Merit is awarded by the Prime Minister, the number of order holders is limited to 800. The President of the State Parliament and the members of the State Government are entitled to make proposals. The corresponding state law on the Order of Merit of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate of October 2, 1981 came into force on January 1, 1982.

For special services to the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, 14 women and 34 men have been awarded the newly created state order by Prime Minister Bernhard Vogel in Hambach Castle near Neustadt an der Weinstrasse .

On December 4, 2007, 22 personalities were honored at the 26th award ceremony.

On November 30, 2011, Prime Minister Kurt Beck was awarded the Order of Merit in the ballroom of the State Chancellery. A total of 15 women and men were honored. On behalf of all those honored, Prof. Dr. Hans Wolfgang Spiess, Director at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research, gave the acceptance speech.

The Luxembourg Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker received the Order of Merit on November 15th .

With the announcement of the State Chancellery of Rhineland-Palatinate on May 25, 2012, two Polish citizens were awarded the Order of Merit.

  • Boguslaw Wierdak , Chairman of the Sejmik of the Polish Voivodeship Opole / Opole (Upper Silesia)

With the announcement of the State Chancellery of Rhineland-Palatinate on July 3, 2012, a French citizen was awarded the Order of Merit.

On December 10, 2012, 13 women and men were awarded the Order of Merit of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate by Prime Minister Kurt Beck in the ballroom of the State Chancellery.

2013 (32nd award)

For the first time, Prime Minister Malu Dreyer presented the award to eleven women and men in the ballroom of the State Chancellery. The Prime Minister of the German-speaking Community of Belgium , Karl-Heinz Lambertz, gave the acceptance speech on behalf of all the winners. The ceremony was musically framed by the bassoonist Theo Plath, scholarship holder of the Rhineland-Palatinate Future Initiative, and the pianist Julia Kammerlander.

Prime Minister Malu Dreyer presented the award to twelve women and men in the ballroom of the State Chancellery. Karin and Bertram Schmidt-Friderichs held the acceptance speech on behalf of all the winners. The ceremony was musically framed by ZIRP scholarship holders Isabelle Müller (harp) and Till Plinkert (trumpet).
