Stein was a guest in every program .

The theme song is the intro theme of The Final Countdown of Europe . In spring 2008 the design of the show including the logo was modernized. For the 97th episode, the show got a new set . For the 133rd episode, slight changes were made to the set design.

broadcast

Charisma

After RTL relied on event programming for the first 25 “Chartshow” episodes and showed the program on different days of the week, at different broadcast times and at different intervals, there was a series production for the first time in early 2007. From January to March, a total of eight “Chartshow” issues were broadcast on Fridays at 9:15 pm. Further seasons have followed every six months since autumn 2007, the broadcasting time remained. However, special editions such as the hits of the year will continue to be broadcast at 8.15 p.m. On May 2, 2008, the 50th program was broadcast. On December 9, 2011, the 100th program was broadcast. On June 14, 2013, the program to celebrate the 10th birthday of the show was broadcast from an amphitheater in Palma , taking the theme of the first edition, with the hits that have been released in the meantime being included, making it a new number One gave. For the first time, 100 placements were shown.

evaluation

A ranking list of the most successful songs (or films, albums, artists) on a specific topic is compiled for the individual programs. This is compiled by the expert Frank Ehrlacher - in earlier episodes also by Joachim Pschorr, the former managing director of the magazine " Musikmarkt " - according to a point system . After the weekly chart placements, points ten to one are awarded from places one to ten (place one gets ten points, place two gets nine points, etc.). Then all points of the respective artist are added up. When it comes to the placement of singles or albums, only the most successful work is selected by each artist (except in the editions of the most successful hits of the respective year). The top 50 (or 100, 40, 35, 30, 25 or 24) of this list are presented in the respective program. This takes place in the form of recordings, consisting of up to five placements, which are commented on by prominent people.

In the edition “The most popular Christmas hits of all time”, the evaluation was based on a Forsa survey, in which the respondents were asked to rate the Christmas carols played for them from 1 to 10. The top 24 of the results were presented. The official airplay charts of the market research company Nielsen Media Research were evaluated for the edition “The most successful radio hits” . The ranking of the episode “The best music videos of all time” was based on a viewer vote on the RTL.de website; The editions “Women's Favorite Hits” and “Men's Favorite Hits”, “The Most Popular Christmas Song”, “The Most Popular Après Ski Party Hits” and those for the 100th episode “Germany chooses No. 1". For all other editions of the music show, the German single or album charts were the basis for the placements. According to Frank Ehrlacher, the ranking for the edition “The most successful party hits of all time” arose on the one hand from the chart positions and on the other hand from the ratings of the songs by “party experts”, including musicians and DJs. So it happened that the winning title of the show I Was Made for Lovin 'You by Kiss was only 13th according to the charts, but reached number one in the show by the jury ratings.

In the “The Most Successful Hits 2019” edition, the top 25 singles were evaluated not only according to the single charts, but also according to the MusicTrace airplay charts. The reason for this is that German rappers like Capital Bra would otherwise have entered the countdown more than three times. The inclusion of the airplay charts also included hits in the countdown that did not even reach the top 10 in the single charts, such as Bad Liar from the Imagine Dragons, and thus the hit Señorita by Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello made it to number 1 in the countdown, originally without airplay charts would Old Town Road by Lil Nas X was No. 1 on the singles.

The selection of the titles that are actually published in the show, however, sometimes seems arbitrary. For example, in the March 4, 2011 issue of “The Most Successful Synth Pop Hits”, the title Living on Video by Trans-X was missing , even though this classic of synth pop in 1983 made it to fourth place. Other titles that weren't even in the top 10 were published. For example, the title (You'll Always Find Me in the) Kitchen at Parties was presented by Jona Lewie , although it never got past 23rd place in the weekly placements and therefore according to the above. Evaluation mode reached 0 points.

Remarks

  1. a b c Issues with the topic were already published in November 2003 and November 2010, in the sequel from 2010 only the charts for the last 30 years at that time, ie from 1980, were evaluated.
