The League 1 2009/10 was the 72th season in the history of the highest Romanian football league . It began on July 31, 2009 and ended on May 22, 2010. From mid-December to mid-February, the game was closed ( winter break ). Champion CFR Cluj . Politehnica Iași , Ceahlăul Piatra Neamț and Unirea Alba Iulia had to relegate . Actually, Pandurii Târgu Jiu should also have been relegated, but was allowed to stay in the league because Internațional Curtea de Argeş did not receive a license.
mode
The league 1 played with 18 teams. The four last-placed teams relegated to League II , from which four teams rose (the two first-placed teams from each of the two seasons). There were three points for a win, one point for a draw and no points for a defeat. If two or more teams were tied at the end of the season, it was not the goal difference that decided , but the direct comparison.
