The Miami Open 2017 (officially: Miami Open presented by Itaú ) was a tennis tournament that took place in Miami from March 22nd to April 2nd, 2017 . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2017 and was played outdoors on hard courts. This season it was the second of nine tournaments in the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 category . At the same time, the women's Miami Open took place in Miami . Traditionally, the tournament followed the Masters tournament in Indian Wells .

In the singles Novak Đoković was defending champion; he won five of the last six events and, since 2014, the tournament. In doubles, the pairing of Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut was last year's winner.

The field of participants in the individual competition consisted of 96 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 32 pairs. The 32 top seeded players in the singles each received a bye into the second round. The total prize pool was $ 6,993,450; total financial liabilities were $ 7,913,405.

The qualification took place on March 20 and 21, 2017. Twelve qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament. There was also a lucky loser.
