Göhren-Lebbin is a municipality in the Mecklenburg Lake District in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany. It is administered by the Malchow Office. Göhren-Lebbin has been a state-approved resort since December 2003.

geography

Göhren-Lebbin in the Mecklenburg Lake District is located in a slightly hilly and lake-rich area that is a maximum of 90 m above sea level. NN reached. The community is located on the Fleesensee and Kölpinsee , two of the Mecklenburg Upper Lakes, and another, much smaller lake is the Poppentiner See . The town of Malchow is about six kilometers away. The districts Poppentin, Roez, Untergöhren and Wendhof belong to Göhren-Lebbin.

history

All places, except Untergöhren, were first mentioned in the 13th century. From 1843 to 1914 the village was called Blücher . Blücher Castle , which is now used as a hotel and is surrounded by a park, dates from this time .

Until the middle of the 17th century, the Lebbin estate was owned by the von Below family , then the von Gamm auf Göhren family, and later the von Grape family . In 1822, Count Ludwig von Blücher acquired the estate. His son, Count Ludwig II, had a manor house built outside the estate in 1842, but had to sell the estate to Baron Tiele-Winckler in 1871 . In 1912 the mansion burned down completely. Today's neo-baroque mansion with the two distinctive towers was built on the foundation walls . From 1926 the mansion and estate were leased and sold to Mr. Barfurth in 1934. During the Second World War, parts of the manor house were used as a school and a smaller part as an apartment. After 1945 it served as a consumer, restaurant, doctor's practice, kindergarten and seat of the municipal administration. In 1974 it was renovated and then used as a holiday home. After 1990, a holiday and leisure complex Land Fleesensee was built in Göhren-Lebbin , the center of which is the manor house Blücher Castle .

The Roez manor was built at the beginning of the 18th century and was rebuilt at the end of the 19th century.

" The coat of arms was designed by the graphic artist Werner Schinko from Röbel . It was approved on February 22nd, 2000 by the Ministry of the Interior and registered under the number 204 of the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Justification for the coat of arms: The key in the coat of arms comes from the coat of arms of the Counts of Blücher auf Fincken, which shows two silver keys with turned away beards in the first and fourth fields in red in the five-part shield. This establishes a connection to the owners of the goods in the 19th century. The tower stands for the listed castle.

Economy and Infrastructure

Tourism is crucial to the economy in the municipality. Thanks to the holiday complex on Fleesensee with the Robinson Club , a day SPA and several hotels in the complex and in the village, Göhren-Lebbin has developed into a travel destination. In recent years, around 120 holiday homes and apartments have been built around these holiday complexes.

Under the name “Fleesensee-Shuttle”, the municipality operates its own local bus service between the golf course, the districts and the beach or port. The ride is free for guests with a tourist card . Connections to the nearby cities of Waren (Müritz) and Malchow are provided by the year-round MVVG buses (line 022).

In the Untergöhren district, the “Weisse Flotte Müritz” operates a landing stage on its seasonal liner service Malchow - Untergöhren - Waren. Excursions on the water are also offered from Untergöhren.
