history
Today's tower is the third observation tower on the Fremersberg. The first tower was built in 1883 and was built using rubble stones from a Sinzheim quarry . In 1900 it was increased to around 28 meters, but had to be demolished in 1954 due to the risk of collapse. In the same year the second tower was rebuilt from the old stones. When Südwestfunk set up its television studios in Baden-Baden a few years later and needed a radio relay station, the existing tower was replaced with a modern reinforced concrete structure .
