geography

Boxdorf is located in the north-west of the Nuremberg urban area, immediately west of the motorway-like federal highway 4 . The place still belongs to the western edge of the garlic country . The Bachgraben, which is a left tributary of the Gründlach , flows through the village .

history

The place probably belonged to the Königsmark Fürth of the Franconian Empire as early as the 8th century . In 1293 a "Chunradus de Pokkesdorf" was mentioned in a document, which is also the first written mention of the place. The certificate is listed in the Nuremberg Document Book under No. 853. The translation of the Latin document reads:

“I, Konrad Truchseß von Limburg and my wife , Konrad Truchseß , confess with this certificate that we have sold our farm in Leichendorf , which Konrad von Boxdorf calls it, and which we own, and all of its affiliations in fields, meadows, pastures, forests and woods, cultivated or uncultivated, known or still to be determined, called Ulrich Haller, citizen of Nuremberg, and his heirs for 81 pounds of Haller, which we received from him in full. "

In 1342 the place was mentioned as "Pokstorf" and in 1430 as "Bockstorff". The defining word of the place name is the Middle High German word "bock" (= roe buck), which was probably used as an epithet for the founder of the settlement.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 24 properties and a community shepherd's house in Boxdorf. The high court exercised the imperial city of Nuremberg , but this was disputed by the Brandenburg-Bayreuth Oberamt Baiersdorf . The Landpflegamt Nürnberg was in charge of the village and community . The landlords were the Landesalmosenamt Nürnberg (1 estate); the Nuremberg owners of Fürer (3 estates, 1 Seldengut), of landlord (3 estates, 2 Seldengüter), of Imhoff (1 estate), of Kreß (2 farms, 5 Seldengüter, 2 half-farms), of spoon wood (1 Seldengut), Burkhard v. Öffelholzscher Familienfideikommiß (1 good, 1 Seldengut) and from Viatis (1 good). However, the manors apparently did not have mansions.

As part of the municipal edict, the Buch tax district was formed in 1813 , to which Boxdorf also belonged. It also belonged to the rural community founded in the same year . With the second community edict (1818) the rural community Boxdorf, to which Herboldshof and Steinach belonged. It was subordinate to the Erlangen Regional Court in administration and jurisdiction and to the Erlangen Rent Office for financial administration . In voluntary jurisdiction, 5 properties were under the Patrimonial Court (PG) Boxdorf from 1823 to 1835 , 1 property from 1822 to 1827 to the PG Buch , 5 properties from 1822 to 1836 to the PG Haimendorf , 5 properties from 1802 to 1846 to the PG Neunhof , 2 properties from 1821 to 1835 the PG Steinach and 1 estate until 1812 and from 1823 to 1835 the PG Zerzabelshof . From 1862 Boxdorf was administered by the Fürth district office (renamed the Fürth district in 1938 ). In 1862 jurisdiction was transferred to the Fürth District Court , and since 1880 it has been with the Fürth District Court . The financial management was taken over in 1871 by the Rentamt Fürth (renamed Finanzamt Fürth in 1920 ). In 1912 Kleingründlach was reassigned from Eltersdorf to Großgründlach. In 1961 the municipality had an area of 5.112 km².

On July 1, 1972, the community of Boxdorf was dissolved as part of the regional reform: Herboldshof and Steinach and were incorporated into Fürth and Boxdorf to Nuremberg. The last mayor before the incorporation was Alfred Rohrmüller.
