Gut Rosenkranz was called Gut Schinkel until 1828 . The owner at the time Robert Weber (1798–1876) named it after his wife Axeline von Rosenkrantz , to whom he owed his title Baron von Rosenkranz. By marriage, the estate came into the possession of the von Münchhausen family , who still run it today.

In 1284 a moated castle was mentioned on the site of the later manor, which was replaced by the present mansion in 1791, which was expanded at the end of the 19th century to form a closed courtyard with a gatehouse with a portico. In the gatehouse there are two bells from 1531/41. In the landscaped garden behind the manor house there are remains of the old Eider Canal .

Organic farming has been practiced on the estate since 1989 . Today the trading company for natural products Gut Rosenkrantz is located in Neumünster.
