Francis White (politician)

Francis White (* before 1794 in Winchester , Virginia , † November 1826 in Hampshire County , Virginia) was an American politician . Between 1813 and 1815 he represented the state of Virginia in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Francis White attended public schools in his home country and then worked in agriculture. He also embarked on a political career as a member of the Federalist Party . In 1794 and from 1809 to 1813 he was a member of the Virginia House of Representatives . In the congressional elections of 1812 he was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the second constituency of his state , where he succeeded John Baker on March 4, 1813 . Until March 3, 1815, he was able to complete a legislative period in Congress . This was from the events of the British-American War embossed.

In 1818 White sat again in the Virginia House of Representatives. In 1823 and 1824 he was a member of the State Senate . Since December 9, 1823, he served as sheriff in Hampshire County. He died on the Capon River in November 1826 .
