James Pindall

James Pindall (born around 1783 in Monongalia County , Virginia , †  November 22, 1825 in Clarksburg , Virginia) was an American politician . Between 1817 and 1820 he represented the state of Virginia in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Born in what is now West Virginia , James Pindall attended public schools in his homeland. After a subsequent law degree and his license to practice law in 1803, he began to work in Morgantown in this profession. He later moved his residence and law firm to Clarksburg. There he also held various local offices. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Federalist Party . Between 1808 and 1812 he was a member of the Virginia Senate . He later became a colonel in the state militia.

In the 1816 congressional elections , Pindall was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the first constituency of Virginia , where he succeeded John George Jackson on March 4, 1817 . After being re-elected, he could remain in Congress until his resignation on July 26, 1820 . After the end of his time in the US House of Representatives, Pindall withdrew from politics. He died in Clarksburg on November 22, 1825.
