Edgar Campbell Wilson

Edgar Campbell Wilson (born October 18, 1800 in Morgantown , Virginia , † April 24, 1860 there ) was an American politician .

Born in what is now West Virginia , Edgar Wilson studied law and was admitted to the bar on June 24, 1832. He practiced in his hometown of Morgantown. In the same year he was elected for the National Republican Party in the 23rd Congress and represented there from March 4, 1833 to March 3, 1835 the state of Virginia in the House of Representatives of the United States . He did not succeed in being re-elected.

After his brief political career, Wilson returned to his old profession and practiced again in Morgantown. In 1842 he was appointed district attorney at the Marion County Court of Appeals. He died in Morgantown in 1860 and was buried in Oak Grove Cemetery . His father Thomas Wilson and son Eugene McLanahan Wilson were also MPs in the United States House of Representatives.
