history

Hardesvogtei

The place Fleckeby was first mentioned in 1196 on the occasion of the dissolution of the Michaeliskloster in Schleswig as Fekabicol . The place name comes from the Danish and means herb village (feka ≈ marsh herb). The place Götheby was first mentioned in 1327 and means village, settlement of Gøtti , a nickname that refers to the Goths or Gauten .

The current municipality of Fleckeby was created on February 12, 1974 by merging the municipalities of Götheby-Holm and Fleckeby. The Möhlhorst Manor ( Mølskov ) on the Osterbek also belongs to the municipality .

The Hardesvogtei is located in Fleckeby . It was rebuilt in 1856 by the Hardesvogt Maximilian Franciscus Blaunfeldt and was the seat of the bailiff of the Hüttener Harde until 1868 . Today the house serves as a museum of the Schleswig Harden . The Kreuzkirche on Louisenlunder Weg is entered in the list of cultural monuments in Fleckeby . In the eastern part of the municipality near Götheby-Holm runs a section of the Osterwall , which in the late Iron and Viking Age blocked off the Schwansen peninsula as an eastern section of the Danewerk . The Danewerk, together with Haithabu and other Viking Age sites in Northern Europe, was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2018 as part of the transnational project “Viking Age Sites in Northern Europe” .

badges and flags

The coat of arms was designed by the painter Hans Werner Ewald and approved by the state of Schleswig-Holstein on December 14, 1987.

In 2007 the Fleckebyer Rainer Röhl began to revise the coat of arms with the aim of improving color, sharpness and quality. Röhl designed it as it is known today. By revising the sharpness and quality, Röhl was now also able to design a flag. This was approved by the state in July 2009 and presented to the public a few months later.

Blazon coat of arms: “By a moving silver wave divided by blue and red, covered with a rooted golden oak stump that has been knocked out again with two leaves. The leaves enclose a silver hammer with the pointed side facing forward. "

The two oak leaves in the coat of arms symbolize the two districts of Fleckeby and Götheby-Holm as a double oak . The roots in the arable land point to agriculture and the hammer to the craft and trade. The waves should point to the location of the community on the Schlei .

Blazon of the flag: the municipal coat of arms in tincture appropriate for the flag on the top and bottom by a narrow blue stripe.

The yellow background symbolizes the rapeseed fields in the region. The two blue stripes stand on the one hand for the floodplains of the municipality, on the other hand for the location on the Schlei.
