history
The church of Hütten was first mentioned in 1319 as part of a manor . The brick nave from this period can still be seen as the core of today's building. Around 1520, Frederick I - Duke of the Duchy of Schleswig and the Duchy of Holstein - acquired the estate and made it an outbuilding for Gottorf Castle . The Duke had a late Gothic choir added to the church . The previously single-nave church was enlarged to a two-nave structure. The vault that was built at that time had to be demolished in 1882 due to dilapidation and replaced by a flat ceiling.
Today's village was created in 1783 as a street village due to the subdivision of the estate . The place was once the seat of the Hüttener Harde .
