MTV Video Music Awards / Best Dance Video
The MTV Video Music Award for Best Dance Video , along with Best Rock Video and Best Rap Video, is one of three genre awards that were introduced in 1989. The award changed its name several times. In 1989 it was introduced under its current name. After being deleted as part of a large-scale relaunch in 2007 , it returned to the 2008 as Best Dancing in a Video . Already in 2009 the category was canceled again only at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards as Best Electronic Dance Music Video return. In 2013 the award was suspended again and returned in 2014 as the MTV Clubland Award . After another dropout in 2015 , it was awarded as Best Electronic Video at the MTV Video Music Awards 2016 . It was not given its original name back until the MTV Video Music Awards 2017 and has been given annually since then.
The Pussycat Dolls , Calvin Harris and Zedd each won the award twice. Madonna and Janet Jackson were each nominated six times.
