Cia. do Buggy was a Brazilian manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company from the state of Ceará started producing automobiles in 2003. The brand name was Cauype . Production ended in 2007. A state source knows vehicles built between 2003 and 2005.

The only model was a VW buggy . He resembled the Caribe . A tubular frame formed the basis. An open body made of fiberglass was mounted on top. One version had an air-cooled four - cylinder boxer engine with a displacement of 1600 cc from Volkswagen do Brasil . But there were also versions with water-cooled VW engines with 1000 cm³, 1600 cm³, 1800 cm³ and 2000 cm³ displacement. Initially, the vehicles had square headlights.

In 2006, the facelift led to round headlights and three round taillights.
