Mecânica Ritter SA is a Brazilian company and a former manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded on August 18, 1966 in Santo Ângelo . It originally made equipment for agriculture. In the second half of the 1980s, the production of automobiles and kit cars also began . The brand name was Sarrus . A dealer from São Paulo sold the vehicles. There is a surviving vehicle from 1987 and an advertisement from 1988.

The only model was a VW buggy . An open, doorless body made of fiberglass was mounted on a shortened chassis from Volkswagen do Brasil . There was a roll bar behind the front seats . A hard top was also available. Square headlights were integrated into the front of the vehicle. An air-cooled four - cylinder boxer engine in the rear drove the rear wheels.
