Dacunha Transportes was a Brazilian manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded in 1971 in São Bernardo do Campo . In 1976 an automobile was presented. Series production began in July 1977. The brand name was Jeg . The Dacunha Veículos e Mecânica SA department was responsible . Vehicle production ended in 1981. In 2000 a competitor took over the company. A total of around 500 vehicles were built.

Off-road vehicles were on offer . They were based on the chassis of the VW Beetle , which was shortened by 40 cm. The four - cylinder boxer engine with a displacement of 1600 cc , carburetor and 48  hp also came from Volkswagen do Brasil . It was mounted in the rear and drove the rear wheels. Some vehicles had all-wheel drive , which was developed in collaboration with QT Engenharia e Equipamentos . The body was made of steel. With a wheelbase of 200 cm, the vehicles were 330 cm long, 165 cm wide and 170 cm high. They weighed 995 kg.
