Tukano Tecnologia & Design is a Brazilian company.

Company history

Francisco Américo de Vasconcellos founded the company in Fortaleza in 1991 . It makes objects out of fiberglass . In 1993 the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Tukano . Automobile production ceased between 1999 and 2003 before it finally ended in 2006.

The first Convert MCR model was a type of VW buggy . A body made of fiberglass was mounted on a tubular frame. The front was reminiscent of Puma's sports cars . The windshield was from the Fiat 147 . The front passenger area had a fixed roof with a sliding roof. The four-seater, which had four round tail lights, had an open rear area, but a hardtop was available. There was also a pick-up that only had two round taillights. In the version up to 1999, the vehicles had two doors. An air-cooled four - cylinder boxer engine with a displacement of 1600 cm³ in the rear drove the rear wheels.

The vehicles from 2003 onwards no longer had any doors. Headlights from the Chevrolet Corsa were on the front of the vehicle .

In 1998, the development of a tricycle began, which remained a prototype . The rear single wheel was driven. The curb weight was specified with 180 kg and the payload with 170 kg. A 125 cc engine was provided.
