SS Fiberglass Indústria e Comércio de Veículos Ltda. is a Brazilian manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Ernani Luiz Kranz founded the company in Montenegro in 1991 . The production of automobiles began at a plant in São José do Sul . The brand name is SS , although SS Fiberglass and SS Fiberglass have also been passed down. For the years from 2000 to 2003, 30 vehicles have been delivered.

The offer includes replicas of American vehicles from the 1930s to 1950s. The basis is its own chassis . Suspension and brakes come from the Chevrolet Opala . Various four-cylinder , V6 and V8 engines from Chevrolet and Ford drive the vehicles. The bodies are made of fiberglass .

The first model SS 34 is a coupé similar to a Ford Coupé from 1934. The body shapes were imported from the USA . Roadsters , two-door sedans and panel vans followed. The SS 38 resembles a 1938 Chevrolet and the SS 41 a 1941 Willys .

Commercial vehicles are built on the basis of pick-ups from Chevrolet and Ford . The SS 48 is inspired by the 1948 Ford and the SS 51 by the 1951 Ford. The bodies of these pick-ups and panel vans are also made of fiberglass. You can choose between gasoline and diesel engines .
