TAC Motors Industria Automotive SA , previously Tecnologia Automotiva Catarinense , is a Brazilian manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company Tecnologia Automotiva Catarinense was in 2001 or 2004 Joinville founded. The first prototype was presented in October 2004 . In 2006, twelve more prototypes were made. The brand name is TAC . In 2007, Adolfo Cesar dos Santos was the director. The name of the company was later changed to TAC Motors Industria Automotive SA. In 2012 a plant in Sobral with 130 employees and an annual capacity of 3000 vehicles was announced and put into operation the following April. For some time now, the vehicles have only been made to order.

In 2015 negotiations started with Zotye International . Zotye then took over TAC. TAC has been a subsidiary or branch of Zotye since October 26, 2015.

In 2019 the company was taken over by the Ferreira Souza group. The new company CAB Motors wants to produce a new Stark Mountain model in a new factory from 2021 .

vehicles

Off-road vehicles are on offer . The prototype A4 had an engine from Volkswagen do Brasil with a capacity of 2000 cm³ and an output of 112  hp . The body was made of GRP and other plastics . The curb weight of 1300 kg was about 30% less than that of the comparable vehicle from Troller .

In the series version, a VW engine with a displacement of 1800 cm³ and an output of 106 hp drives the vehicles. In 2008 TAC Stark added a turbodiesel engine with a displacement of 2300 cm³ and 127 hp to the range.

In 2012, the Estark model ( spelling : eStark ) with an electric motor was added.
