Short Motorsport , previously Short Motor Sport , is a Brazilian manufacturer of automobiles and accessories.

Company history

The company Short Motorsport from São Paulo was one of Fabio Taccari design . Automobile development began in the early 1980s. In 1994 the first prototype was ready. Individual vehicles have been handcrafted since the 2000s, around two per year. The brand name is Short . The company now operates as Short Motorsport , specifying the year it was founded in 2011.

The first prototype Racer from 1994 was based on the chassis of the VW Brasília , which was shortened to 212 cm. The air-cooled four-cylinder engine with a displacement of 2200 cm³ was mounted in the rear.

The Turbo EX followed in 2002 . It had a more modern chassis. Another air-cooled engine from Volkswagen do Brasil was mounted in the rear. With the help of a turbocharger, it produced 150 hp from a displacement of 1800 cm³. The two-seater coupé with a targa roof was 350 cm long.

Next up was the Turbo GT . It had a similar engine with 180 hp. Another source names the model Turbo GT AR and gives 185 hp.

Only the SRT went into small series production. It had a water-cooled engine from VW with 1800 cc displacement, turbocharger and 220 hp. Another source mentions the model name Turbo GT AP and 237 hp.

A Spider and the GTO with an Audi engine are also mentioned.

The Short E with the same body is an attempt at an electric car . The two electric motors each drive a rear wheel.
