Orion (Brazilian car brand)

Orion was a Brazilian car brand and automaker based in Porto Alegre .

Brand history

The company manufactured automobiles in the 1980s . The brand name was Orion .

One model was based on a chassis from the VW Beetle that had been shortened by 32 cm . The open fiberglass body offered space for two people. There was a roll-over device behind the seats . The four angular headlights came from the VW Passat , the taillights from the VW Gol and the windshield from the Fiat 147 . The vehicle had two doors and side windows and was similar to the Chevrolet Corvette .

A coupé has also survived.

Another model with an open, doorless body was a type of VW buggy .

One model probably had a front engine.
