Nissin Veículos da Amazônia Ltda. , previously Grupo Nissin , was a Brazilian manufacturer of automobiles . Another source names the company name Amazon Veículos Especiais .

Company history

The company Grupo Nissin was founded in Manaus in 1991 . The first automobiles were manufactured in 2000. The brand name was initially Nissin . 2001 the company name and also the brand name changed to Amazon . Series production began in 2003. Planning amounted to an annual production of 360 to 480 vehicles. Production ended in 2004. A government source knows Nissin vehicles from 1994 to 2003 and Amazon vehicles from 2003 to 2005.

In 2001 and 2001 three vehicles were built, ten in 2002 and twenty in 2003. For 2004, 13 vehicles have been delivered.

Off-road vehicles were on offer . They were either bodied as a station wagon or as a pick-up . Initially the models Rústica and TT , which were later renamed Savana , Selva and Tapajós , have survived . From a displacement of 4000 cm³, the engines initially developed between 95  hp and 120 hp, and later also 140 hp.
