Tarpan Indústria e Comércio de Fiberglass , previously Toni Bianco Competições , was a Brazilian manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
In 1974, Ottorino Bianco founded the Toni Bianco Competições company with headquarters in São Paulo and a workshop in Diadema . At first he dealt with racing cars . In 1976 he presented his first automobile at a trade fair. The brand name was Bianco . In 1981 the name was changed to Tarpan Indústria e Comércio de Fiberglass . Production ended in 1983. A total of around 180 vehicles were built.
vehicles
The first model was the Bianco S . The platform frame from the VW Brasília formed the basis . A two-seater coupé body made of fiberglass was mounted on top. The vehicles were only 116 cm high. The vehicles were powered by a four - cylinder boxer engine with a displacement of 1600 cm³ , double carburetors and 65 hp .
The slightly revised Bianco SS followed in 1978 .
The Tarpan TS presented in 1981 had a different chassis and an engine from the VW Passat with a displacement of 1600 cm³ and an output of 96 hp. Now a convertible was also offered.
