CBP Indústria, Comércio e Exportação was a Brazilian manufacturer of automobiles . CBP stood for Companhia Brasileira de Prototipos .

Company history

The company was founded in the Santo Amaro district of São Paulo in the early 1980s . First, components for autocross were created. In 1984 the production of an automobile was taken over by Envemo . The brand name was CBP . Production ended in the 1990s. A state source knows vehicles built up to 1994. Chamonix adopted the shape of a model.

The first model was a replica of the Porsche 356 in 1984 . A two-door body was mounted on the chassis of the VW Brasília . There was a choice of a coupé or a convertible . A four - cylinder boxer engine with 65  hp propelled the vehicles.

From 1985 there was the 550 Spyder , which corresponded to the Porsche 550 from the 1950s.

The replica of the Porsche 911 was also released in 1985 . This led to legal problems with Porsche in the 1990s .

1987 there was a replica of an MG A . Here, too, a VW chassis served as the basis. The open body was made of fiberglass .

There were also commercial vehicles and pick-ups .
