Montadora Nacional de Automóveis Ltda. , Montauto for short , formerly BRM - Buggy Rodas e Motores Ltda. , is a Brazilian manufacturer of automobiles and kit cars .

Company history

The company was founded in São Paulo in 1969 . Around 1500 kits from other manufacturers such as Bugre and Glaspac had been assembled by 1973 . Then the production of self-developed automobiles began. The brand name is BRM or BRM Buggy . In 1981 the company moved to São Bernardo do Campo and chose the new company name. A total of around 24,000 vehicles have been built so far.
