Fyber
Fyber is a Brazilian car brand.
Brand history
The brothers Agliberto and Rogério Farias founded the company Fyber Indústria e Comércio Ltda in 1974 . in Fortaleza . First they dealt with fiberglass . In 1982 the production of automobiles began. The brand name is Fyber . Before 1992, the name was changed to Fyber Indústria de Veículos SA , and bankruptcy followed in 1999 . Rogério Farias left the company around 1993 and founded Troller .
Former Fyber dealer Peixoto Veículos from Fortaleza has continued production since 2003. In total, more than 12,000 Fybers have been created so far .
vehicles
VW buggies are on offer . The basis is a tubular frame, not the platform frame from the VW Beetle like many competing models. An open body made of fiberglass is mounted on it. Various air-cooled and water-cooled engines from Volkswagen do Brasil have been used so far.
The first model was the Duna , designed by Milton Nunes. Around 180 of these were built by 1984, including seven floatable vehicles.
The Fyber 2000 followed with a short chassis and square headlights. Around 1994, the similar star replaced the Fyber 2000 . Of these two models, around 12,000 vehicles were built by 1999.
From 1988 about 90 vehicles of a Type 3000 in the style of a Jeep were built.
From 1992 there were also around 600 trucks and ambulances with Fiat engines and front-wheel drive .
