Dacon , short for Distribuidora de Automóveis, Caminhões e Ônibus Nacionais , was a Brazilian company in the automotive sector .

Company history

Paulo de Aguiar Goulart founded the company in São Paulo in the 1960s . At first it was a car dealership for Volkswagen do Brasil and an importer for vehicles from BMW , Ferrari , Maserati and Porsche . From 1964 he manufactured racing cars with Porsche engines. In 1966 he founded the Escuderia Dacon racing team . From the 1970s there were conversions based on VW. In 1982 the production of self-developed automobiles began. The brand name was Dacon . Production ended in 1985 or 1994. In 1996 the company was dissolved.

Paulo de Aguiar Goulart was also involved in Projects d'Avant Garde , which made the PAG .

vehicles

The designer Anísio Campos designed a strikingly short car with the 828 . Depending on the source, the length was 250 cm or 265 cm. The basis was the chassis of the VW Beetle , which was shortened by 78 cm . The body of the first prototype was made of steel, the series models made of fiberglass . The four - cylinder boxer engine was mounted in the rear and developed 54  hp . From this model 47 or 48 vehicles were built.
