Farus
Farus was a Brazilian car brand.
Brand history
Alfio Farus and his son Giuseppe Farus, owners of Italmecãnica , founded Farus Indústria de Veículos Esportivos Ltda in 1979 . in Belo Horizonte . The first automobile was presented in June 1980 . Series production began in February 1981. The brand name was Farus , short for Família Russo . Around 100 vehicles were built in the first year. In 1983 the company name changed to Embrabi Comércio Indústria Ltda. The production plant was now in Contagem .
In 1990 everything was transferred to Tecvan, Tecnologia de Vanguarda Ltda. sold from Contagem. Production ended in 1991. A total of around 1200 vehicles were built.

The first ML 928 model was a two-seater coupe . The basis was a self-made chassis . A fiberglass body was mounted on top. A four-cylinder engine from Fiat with 1,300 cc displacement and 72 hp power powered vehicles. Later, larger engines with a displacement of 1600 cc, 1800 cc and 2000 cc displacement were also available from Volkswagen do Brasil .
Versions with 2 + 2 seats and convertibles have also been handed down.
In 1986 the vehicles were offered in Germany for around DM 30,000 .
