Company history

The Praia Grande company made automobiles and marketed them as Jobby . On the one hand, the decade from 1980 to 1990 is given as the production period; on the other hand, individual vehicles are dated to 1974 and 1994.

One model was a conventional VW buggy . It was based on a chassis from Volkswagen do Brasil and had an air-cooled four - cylinder boxer engine in the rear. The open, doorless body was made of fiberglass . The angular headlights that were integrated into the front of the vehicle were striking.

Around 1990 the buggy was also available with a targa roof .

A multi-purpose vehicle based on VW was also on offer. It was similar to the jeep . The angular body had two doors and a targa roof. A soft top and a hard top were available for the rear area.
