Americar Veículos Especiais Ltda. is a Brazilian manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Cleber Jean Araújo founded the company in Santo Andre in 1995 . He started producing automobiles in 1996. The brand name is Americar . Around 60 vehicles have been built so far.

The first model is similar to a Willys-Overland model from 1941 and is available as a coupé and pick-up . Various V8 engines from Ford and General Motors with a capacity of 5000 cm³ to 7500 cm³ and an output of 215  hp to 450 hp drive the vehicles.

In 2000 the replica of the AC Cobra was added. A tubular frame forms the basis.

The replica of the Ford Thunderbird from 1955 has been added to the range since 2002 .

In addition, the XK 120 , which is similar to the Jaguar XK 120 , has been available as the successor to the Fera since 2003 . These vehicles are powered by a Chevrolet engine with a displacement of 4100 cc. A four-cylinder engine with 2000 cc and 142 hp has also been available for a number of years . In 2011, the version as a coupé was added.

In September 2016, the company only named the Classic 427 and Classic 427 RS models as Cobra replicas and the XK 120 as a coupé and roadster.
