NDM , previously NBM Indústria, Comércio de Veículos Ltda. , was a Brazilian manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company NBM Indústria, Comércio de Veículos Ltda. was based in Rio de Janeiro . In 1984 the production of automobiles and kit cars began . The brand name was NBM . In the following year the name was changed to NDM . Production ended in 1988.

Paulo Renha designed the first model Jornada . The basis was a self-made chassis . An open two-door body with four seats was mounted on it. The roll bar , which was positioned at the level of the rear wheels and inclined forwards, was striking . The targa roof was made of black vinyl . A hard top was also available. An air-cooled four - cylinder boxer engine from Volkswagen do Brasil in the rear drove the rear wheels. Headlights and taillights came from the Chevrolet Chevette .

In 1986 the Spirit added to the range. This convertible had a water-cooled VW engine with 1800 cm³ displacement .
