Edra Automotores , previously Edra Veículos Especiais , is a Brazilian manufacturer of motor vehicles .

Company history

The company Edra Veículos Especiais was founded in 1989 in Rio Claro founded. The aim was the production of off-road vehicles and automobiles. In 1990 the first vehicle was presented. The brand name is Edra . It was later renamed Edra Automotores . Car production was given up around 2005.

The first Rancho TT model was a four-wheel drive off-road vehicle . The base was a tubular frame. A two-door, four-seater body made of steel was mounted on top. There was also a pick-up with a fiberglass body . The diesel engine developed 89 hp or 110 hp with the help of a turbocharger . These models were made for three years.

Work on the GT sports car began in 1990. The exact start of series production is not known, but in 2003 it was still on offer. It also had a tubular frame and fiberglass body. The vehicle was 390 cm long and 119 cm high. Various four-cylinder engines from Volkswagen do Brasil were available. The engine with a displacement of 1800 cc produced 99 hp or 180 hp with a turbocharger. The GTR had a larger engine with 2000 cc and 225 hp, also with a turbocharger.

Commercial vehicles have been in the range since 2005 , including the Mog .
