Panda Comércio de Fibra de Vidro Ltda. was a Brazilian manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The Rio de Janeiro company manufactured automobiles and kit cars in the first half of the 1980s . The brand name was Panda .

From 1988 through the end of the decade, the brand name reappeared. Presumably a company from northeast Brazil had taken over the manufacturing and trademark rights.

VW buggies were on offer . An open, doorless body made of fiberglass was mounted on an uncut chassis from Volkswagen do Brasil with a rear engine . There was a roll bar behind the front seats . The taillights came from the VW bus . In the first series, the front headlights were placed below the fenders.

The body of the models from 1988 onwards was more angular. The headlights were also square.
