Company history

In 1980, José Augusto Teixeira Soares founded Baby - Indústria de Carrocerias Ltda. in Rio de Janeiro . Another source gives the exact date November 25, 1980. He began producing automobiles. The brand name is baby . The company's name was later changed to Beach Buggies e Lanchas Ltda. Around 9,000 vehicles have been built so far. In the 2010s, the annual production volume was around 150 complete vehicles.

VW buggies are on offer . Initially, a chassis from Volkswagen do Brasil with a rear engine formed the basis. An open body made of fiberglass was mounted on top.
