Marques Indústria e Comércio de Veículos Ltda. was a Brazilian manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

In 1978, a pair of siblings from Matão acquired the rights to a Malzoni project . They then founded the company in Cubatão and began producing automobiles. The brand name was Marques . Production ended around 1980. A total of twelve vehicles were built.

Two-seater sports cars were on offer . The coupe had a fiberglass body . The chassis of the VW Brasília formed the basis . The vehicles were powered by an air-cooled four - cylinder boxer engine with a displacement of 1600 cm³ and twin carburetors .

According to one source, a convertible was developed in 1979, and according to other sources, it was also offered.

In 1979 a version with a water-cooled four - cylinder in- line engine from the VW Passat was also being developed.
