Aldee is a Brazilian vehicle brand.

Brand history

The motorcycle racer Almir José Donato founded the company Almir Donato Equipamentos Esportivos in São Paulo in 1983 . He made accessories and converted pick-ups into double cabs . In 1987 he presented his first automobile , manufactured by Metalúrgica Demoral from the same town. The brand name is Aldee . 16 road vehicles were built by 1990. A state source knows vehicles built up to 1993. Production of racing cars began in 1990 and continues to this day.

The first vehicle was the GT 1.8 Street . The platform of the VW Gol formed the basis. A fiberglass coupé body was mounted on top. The pop-up headlights were striking . The vehicles were initially powered by a four-cylinder engine with a displacement of 1800 cm³ . From 1988 a larger engine with a displacement of 2000 cc was also available, which in the sport version produced 180  hp . One of these vehicles won the category 1.6 of the Mil Milhas Brasileiras in 1990 .

The model was further developed as racing for motorsport and received a tubular frame. 54 of these vehicles were built by 1996.

The Spyder appeared in 1996 . This open, two-seater racing car with tubular frame and mid-engine weighs only 630 kg. A VW engine with a displacement of 1998 cm³ to 2050 cm³ and an output of around 220 hp drives the vehicles. So far, over 200 pieces have been produced.
