Duna was a Brazilian car brand.

Brand history

A company from Pereiras , near Sorocaba, started producing automobiles and kit cars in 1979 . The brand name was Duna , Portuguese for dune . Production ended in 1980. Replicar Ltda. continued production under its own brand name.

There was no connection to the car brand of the same name from São José , Duna , which was sold from 1987.

The only model was a VW buggy . A chassis from Volkswagen do Brasil formed the basis. An open body made of fiberglass , which weighed only 70 kg, was mounted on it. There was a roll-over device behind the front seats . There were two free-standing headlights in the front. An air-cooled four - cylinder boxer engine was mounted in the rear and drove the rear wheels.
