Tecnofibra was a Brazilian manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Fernando Pinheiro dos Santos, who designed a vehicle in 1966, founded the company in Rio de Janeiro in 1972 . He started producing automobiles and kit cars . The brand name was Play Bug . 40 vehicles were sold in the first year. After a few interruptions, production finally ended in 1980.

Another company from the same location continued production of a model under the Bravo brand .

The first model was a VW buggy with no additional model name. An open, doorless four-seater body made of fiberglass was mounted on a chassis from Volkswagen do Brasil that had been shortened by 35 cm . The lack of a roll-over device was unusual . An air-cooled four - cylinder boxer engine in the rear drove the rear wheels.

The M-73 followed at the end of 1972 . This buggy was 10 cm longer in the front area and had two doors.
