Tambatajá SA Indústria de Carrocerias was a Brazilian manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The São Paulo company began producing automobiles and kit cars in 1969 . The brand name was Gaiato . Production ended two or three years later.

The only model was a multi-purpose vehicle with a resemblance to the Jeep . An open four-door body made of fiberglass was mounted on an uncut chassis from Volkswagen do Brasil . An air-cooled four - cylinder boxer engine was mounted in the rear and drove the rear wheels.
