The first model Calhambeque was a nostalgic vehicle from the 1930s with no direct model, but with a similarity to the MG models of the time . A chassis from Volkswagen do Brasil formed the basis. An open body made of fiberglass was mounted on top. It was cut out wide at the sides and therefore managed without doors. The spare wheel was attached to the hood. An air-cooled four - cylinder boxer engine in the rear drove the rear wheels. 536 vehicles were built from this model.

The Dakar followed in 1983 . It looked more like a jeep and had the same technical base. In his case the chassis was shortened. The two-door body offered space for four people. This model was discontinued before the end of the decade and later resumed at a factory in Salvador, Bahia .

The Dakar followed the Dakar Plus with rounder body shapes.

Many parts of the Ford Escort have been handed down for the Dakar Plus II .
