.ba is the country-specific top-level domain (ccTLD) for Bosnia and Herzegovina . It has existed since August 14, 1996 and is administered by the University Telinformatic Center .

properties

Only citizens and companies from Bosnia and Herzegovina are allowed to apply for a .ba address, and a valid identity card , sales tax or commercial register number is required when ordering . If no local seat can be shown, at least one local administrative contact person (Admin-C) must be given. Most domain registries offer their customers a trustee to do this job. This is often associated with additional fees. In total, a .ba domain can be between three and 63 characters long, although the use of internationalized domain names is currently not possible.

Registrations are accepted on both the second level and the third level. The following second level domains are available:

  • .edu.ba for educational institutions
  • .gov.ba for the government
  • .net.ba for internet service providers
  • .org.ba for non-profit organizations

meaning

Due to the restrictive allocation criteria .ba is one of the smallest ccTLDs. In January 2006 only about 3,000 addresses were registered, which is relatively few compared to .de (several million).
